Default Metal 4.2V8 Intake Link Arms

My dealer just informed me about these things, I needed a set for my A6 4.2L. This saved me about $700 over dealer price on 2 new arms. And these arent plastic ! Couldnt be happier.

Does anyone know what VAG fault code is associated with the plastic arms being broken ?

No code for me - only lack of power.
Sometimes these arms don't break and the flaps only get stuck (won't move). Simple test is to stand in front of the car and look at the arms and the diaphragms they connect to. While the engine is off the diaphragms should be relaxed. Now have someone start the car and you should see how the arms move and the diaphragms get compressed. If everything moves accordingly you have a working setup - if not you are missing some nice ponies.

I used this very helpful thread to do it:
40V Intake manifold fix for stuck or sluggish flap pivots (no broken parts)... - AudiWorld Forums

Also if you need to replace the diaphragms don't buy the original Audi ones (they are 400 per piece!) - there is a much cheaper solution:

I think 1 of my levers is actually broken too, its got a crack in it. Its the part that actually fits to the shaft from the billet linkage arm. Wonder if Audi sells just that, im guessing no...

Honestly I don't know. I haven't bought those Rover ones I only linked to the thread I found where someone recommended they would fit.
