new to the audi world, have questions.
Just had my 02 A6 3.0 delivered from PA (to CA). Drove it a little and noticed a couple things. I searched the forum for some answers but could not find exactly what I was looking for. So here goes;
1. What is the normal oil temp?
2. My coolant temp gauge goes to half as soon as the ignition is on and never moves, higher or lower until the ignition is off. Sensor? Thoughts? Checked for codes, none.
I am totally loving my car!!

Welcome to the forum. I'm new to the forum as well. Ive got a 2000 with the 2.7. It runs about halfway between 150 and the middle mark. as far as the water goes mine shows cold if the engine hasn't been run and warms up predictably with the needle slowly moving up till it reaches dead center where it stays. Do you have CEL on? I'm working on getting the VAG com software but till then im using an actron scanner that shows live data. I watch the temp rise with it and it seems to follow the gauge pretty well.

Also a 2.7T: the oil warms up gradually and runs just over 200, probably at the 210-220 mark. Under spirited driving (80-90 high speed in warm weather), it will approach 250 but it has never gone over.
The temperature also warms up gradually and is almost always dead center under normal conditions. Maybe, a couple times in very hot summer driving stuck in construction, it has risen a little over the halfway mark.

OK i feel dumb. no "CEL" light and i checked for codes and nothing. i have been watching the gauge latly and noticed it stuck once. but most of the time it is working correctly. i will keep an eye on it. so, for now everything is working great. thanks for the help. still loving the car!!
