Oil Change vs Seals Change

Oil Change vs Seals Change
I didn't know how to word better the title and keep it short, at the same time.
For you guys, who changed the seals at the same time with the TB, I got a question if you don't mind sharing your insight and experience.
Is it necessary to do an "engine clean" followed immediately by an oil change BEFORE the TB job, or is better to do that AFTER replacing the cam/crank seals?
Thanks, as always.

I don't believe it is required, but would be nice. I seafoamed my car about 5,000 miles before the seal/gasket change. (To be honest with you, I think the seafoam actually caused the oil leak on the gaskets.) I am not saying seafoam is bad. On the contrary, I think it is a great product. My take it on it is that the car probably had a lot of build-up, and when seafoamed to clean out the engine, it exposed old gaskets surfaces. Then it started to leak. Seafoam did exactly what it was supposed to do... Clean the gunk out.
So if you are planning to clean engine with an engine cleaner of somesort, this is the order that I would do in.
1. Engine clean
2. Oil change
3. TB and seal/gasket change
