Default Steering Rubbing Issues after Power steering rack and pump install

Went to dealer and was told I needed a new rack. Purchased rack and pump and had an independant mechanic put them in...

a) Make left hand turn slow speeds you can hear groaning/rubbing ( This is new since the pump and rack were installed 3 days ago)

b) steering seems very tight and hard to steer/change lanes out of sharp consistent turns, once out of the turn steering wheel loosens up allowing for normal lane changes etc. This only happens on sharp corners and the car will feel heavy

c) resovoir cap was cracked so they put celophane over where the power steering fluid is until the part comes in

d) Auto headlight level indicator came on after I picked up the car from the power steering pump and rack, ( there was also brake work done to replace the pads) could this be related as the sensors are near the wheels

Questions- could this be that there was not a flush of the power sterring fluid after rack and installation or not enough fluid. None of the syptoms where there (the rubbing prior to the power steering pump and power steering rack install

thanks for all the help
