Temperature guage reads cold - would this cause the p0411
1998 A6 Quattro, 188k
The temperature gauge on the car reads cold even after running the car on the freeway for 20 min. The gauge will eventually sit in the middle but can take many hours of driving around to get to that point.
Would the coolant temperature sensor need to be replaced to fix the gauge reading?
Also would this sensor be a cause of the p0411? I have replaced all of the hoses and the SAP. Still have the code and I don't want to keep just throwing money at the issue.
Thanks

Sounds more like a thermostat that is stuck open. Same thing happened to my old B5 A4, when the weather was anywhere below 70 degrees the temp gauge would never go past the first notch.
What engine is in your A6? We have thermostats available!
