My 2008 A6 3.2L, Quattro has a dead spot when initially accelerating into a turn from a stopped position. The car will accelerate normally until about 5-10mph, then as I continue to press on the throttle to increase speed, a dead spot occurs for 1-2 seconds, where the car decelerates (as I am pressing down on the throttle), and then after the 1-2 second delay, will accelerate normally. I've tried to pump the throttle while in the dead spot, but it does not have any effect. This problem is most evident when I make left turns, and especially when I make left U-turns. I am hoping that someone can help me troubleshoot the problem, or have encounter a similar problem and has advice.

 

Does your ESP light come on while you experience the dead spot? Is it a Quattro or front wheel driven model?

 

It is a quattro. The ESP light does not come on when the problem occurs.

 

Try disabling your ESP by pressing the ESP button on the dash and see if the problem still occurs.
