Tyre pressure ambiguities
Hello,
I had four new tyres fitted today and the garage pumped them all up to 35psi (2.4 bar), on a 225/50/R17 2007 A6 2.7 TDI.
The guide on the fuel cap door looks to indicate that up to three people and minimal luggage the pressure should be 2.8 bar (41 psi front) 2.2 bar (32 psi back) -- which I've been running at.
However, looking at the old tyres that came off the car they were warn more in the middle than the edges which suggests over-inflation.
95% of the time it's just me and my laptop bag so should I be running at lower pressures????
Searching on the Internet most sites suggest as low as 2.1 bar (30 psi) ... help!
Front tyre pressure : 2.1 bars (30 psi)
Rear tyre pressure : 2.1 bars
Front tyre pressure (loaded vehicle) : 2.5 bars (36 psi)
Rear tyre pressure (loaded vehicle) : 2.9 bars (42 psi)
