I currently have an aftermarket CD-player with adapters. The info display in the car sais: "Please insert CD-rom", and the Audi mechanic sais its because of the CD-player. It also turns itself on sometimes, and theres a lot of noise in the speakers. The original player is gone. I do not have the right part number.

What Audi concert players will fit and work? The one I had was a cassette player. A CD-player would be better.

I have a fully amplified BOSE system with a CD-changer in the trunk and some sort of navigation system buttons between the seats.

 

Symphony I is the OE stereo for your car...I don't believe you will need a specific part number for it to work since there were different manufacturers making them for Audi. The Symphony II is for facelift 2002 and newer model A6's

 

No I googled that symphnoy player it's not that size. This is the one I had:

But theres more than one part number that have this front, and some players have the same size but can play CDs. Some say that I need some adapter for this one to work. It looks like this:

"Symphony" = 2DIN, "Concert" = 1DIN. Unless you want to do a full overhaul of your dash (which has been done to upgrade all the way to RNS-E), you'll want to stick with 1DIN.
