Windows and sunroof dont work
I have a 1998 Audi A6. The windows and sunroof dont roll down. I was told it's most likely a relay. Where are the relays? and how much do they cost? What else could it be besides the relays? Also the ac fan doesnt turn on? Relay? ANy help appreciated.

check ur fuse box under the hood....and the one that when u open the drivers door, look at the side of the dash right there, u should see a little panel u can open...lots of fuses in there also that control things such as window/sunroof

Thanks for your reply. I checked the ones inside the car by door and those seem to be all good. Today I will check the ones under the hood. Ill let you know if I need anymore additional help. This site is a real life saver and stress reliever I really appreciate your input.

If it's not the fuses then you might have a more serious electrical problem (i mean fuses are there to make it easy to fix problems and mostly to prevent too much current from flowing through the wires). So cross your fingers haha.
If it looks like everything is fine (fuses) then you may want to see if any of the wires connecting to switches/motors are somehow broken off or aren't contacting properly. Next would be to have a car electrician look at it (most mechanics usually get good enough to be qualified), and the worst case would be to bring it to the dealer.

I had the same problem recently with my 1999 Audi A6, in addition to that my alarm and interior lights were not working (everything related to fuse 14). My mechanic traced all of my problems back to the comfort control module under the drivers seat. It had gotten wet after water backed up from the engine compartment. It cost me $759 to get it fixed (not replaced) still beats a monthly car note. In conclusion I just want to thank everyone for this site and their input because I was able to point my '2nd' mechanic in the right direction and save time & money on speculations.

I'm having a similar problem on my 99 A4: The first indication was that I could not turn off my alarm with the key or the remote. By disconnecting the electrical connector from the alarm module behind the right wall of the trunk, I could disable the alarm but the windows or sunroom became disabled. I've ordered a new (used) module that the dealer diagnosed as the problem. My question is, if anyone knows: After I switch out the module, will it have to be programmed by the dealer??? Anyone???
Thanks,
Thanks,
