Default Broken Washers at Bottom of Gear Stick Assy

The attached photos shows the Broken Washers at Bottom of Gear Stick Assy and the black plastic cap for the AWD 2002 TT.

Q1 - What shoudl i replace these broken bits, given that Audi will only charge me heaps for a complete link assembly?

Q2 - How would the black plastic ring slide into the ball at the bottom of the gear stick assy - given that I am unable to access it from the top?

It would be helpful if you provided additional photographs for the rest of us to give our assessment. Why not present photos of what you just described to us? A side view does not show/tell us anything.
