So our Audi TT weigh's 3883lbs! What can we do to make it weigh less? Guys can we come up with any ideas? The car can produce lots of power, but the weight is holding us back. Lets put our heads together and think of something!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, first of allI would suggest getting rid of that mustang or removing whatever 600 pound lead weight or aftermarket stereo system you have in yours because my 225 Quattro (heaviest COUPE model)with a quarter tank of gas weighs a little over 3200 pounds which I have verified at the scales. My 1992 MR2 Turbo weighed in at 2990 so weight wise it is not too far out there.

Things that are easy for quick wieght reduction are to remove are the back seats, light wieght battery, light weight 17" wheels (can save 40-50 pounds of unsprung wieght). You could also try and find a lighter exhaust system to reduce a few pounds there as well. really depends on how stock you want to keep it and what you are willing to live without. (stereo system, ac, interior, sound deadening materials, ect.)

our cars weigh a lot cuz of all the nice quality stuff inside and the extra axle weight cuz of the quattro system...sure u can lighten it up a bit but at what cost? i dont know if you've noticed but these cars are very quite even at highspeeds.(cabin noise) you can remove your backseats to take off maybe 100lbs(est) I'm gonna just remove the back rest and leave the actual seats in place unless i feel like putting some carpet down to cover the uglyness

First I don't have a stereo system in my car. Second your right, the car weigh's 3054 which isn't bad. I have a convertible so really looks like I have no options on losing more weight from my car.

well you can save about 40lbs off the nose if you get a hawker light weight battery cost ya about 140 bucks and you have to keep an eye on them and dont let them get discharged too much cuz they wont be able to recharge back to normal after that....they only weigh about 12lbs as most battery weigh in at around 50lbs or go with an optima red top 35r like me and they weigh around 33lbs

Where are you getting your numbers? Here's what mine was with a 1/2 tank fuel. I haven't done anything to lighten the car other than different wheels and pull the spare tire/jack. 3116 lbs total.
