Default creaking and/or knocking sound left front tire

I wasn't sure how to search this and not sure exactly what it is so had to describe best I could.

It started when going over an extremely rough road slowly.

It doesn't do it on highway at slow or fast speeds but most noticable when slow turning right on bumpy road or starting from stop on qick take off.

I can't tell if sound is a creak or knock. Strut? Suspension? Other?
Definately left front wheel area.

Enough clues to tell what this might be?

i saw this about someone having a snapped upper control arm but wouldn't i notice something serious if that happened?

https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...rol+arms+sound

It drives and responds fine. But noise is not fine.

Lubricant only maybe? I hope.

sounds like the bushing for the strut top. They are about $25 each from the dealer. ECS tuning has a complete kit. Make sure to change the rubber insert and the bearing. ECS's kit is about $ 50 and comes with everything you need.

I agree... either strut top bushings, Sway bar bushing needs lube, control arm bushing on the left side, or maybe ever a dogbone mount worn out.

Had an import specialist check it out and he said he couldn't figure it out. Could be he is not good enough or experienced with it?

No sound for first 7 miles then it starts (increased heat from friction?), more on twists than on bumps.

He said he thinks it is right side but I haven't listened on passenger side yet.

I guess I could have him replace those and see how it goes.

usually a knocking sound when turning means cv joint. with the car stopped turn the wheel all the way to the left to inspect the boot. if it is torn the grease that lubricates it would have been washed out over time. check the other side as well.

I finally got around to replacing the front sway bar bushings per CincyTT's recommendation with these for $45 .

No more creak and I have amazing responsiveness now. Big difference.
