Default Offset Question

So I'm a newbie here and I've been doing some searching on here and I can't get the offset calc. to work. Anyway, I was wondering if I were to buy 17x7.5 rims with a +40 offset, what size spacers if any would I use? Suggestions?

Thanks!

how can you not get the calc to work? You just install the width 7.5, offset 40 and 0 for spacers and it will tell you what mm you are inside or outside the fender. If you are inside by XXmm, you get the closest spacers you can to keep you inside the fender, they come in 5mm incroments.

under assumption, ~ 30mm spacers to be somewhat flush.

Ok thanks. Its not that I couldn't work the calc. I couldn't find a link that worked. Sorry for being vague.
