1.8t spark plugs
ok new to the forum here. brief history is i used to be an audi tech at a dealership i am currently working as a race car mechanic. still work on audi's everyday but now have numerous other high performance cars and full on race cars i repair and modify.
now my question is i have recently acquired a 2000 a4 1.8t atw. it has the bolt down coil packs. just last night 3 coils went out of it. #3 was a dead mis. after replacing #2 and #4 had a mis around 2500 to 3000 rpm at peak boost which is pretty common to me. now i have been tossing coils at audi's for a while but i don't want to do that with my own car. it is not chipped it still has the stock k03 turbo. the only thing i did was the sport coding to the tiptronic and bypassed the n249 valve. the coils that went bad were around 8 months old. and i am currently running denso iridium plugs.
looking at the breakdown charts on ngk's website i came up with a BKR6EIX plug has the same everything as the PFR6Q plug they list for my car. i have had nothing but good luck running ngk iridium ix plugs and put them in every car i work on that has that plug available for it. i never played the game on matching a plug before though. can anyone think of a reason why this plug will not work or why ngk does not have it listed as a plug i can use. and also i plan on running one range colder so it would be a BKR7EIX.

Very uncommon for the ATW Hitachi coils to go bad. Best coils Audi ever used in the A4 1.8t.
Iridium plugs do not work well in the A4 that are chipped or running larger turbos. Best to stick with copper plugs.

i'm not chipped and have the stock k03 in it. i have the ngk iridiums in it now and they seem ok. if i do what i plan on doing in the future which is chipping it with a k04 i will probably opt out for all copper race plugs and replace them every other oil change. or i will just say goodbye to audi coils do some wiring work and put some coils on it that can meet the power demands.

Your stock coils can handle up to 800chp, I know this because even at 630awhp I was still runinng stock Hitachi coils on my 2000 A4 1.8t. So your stock coils aren't exactly an issue. The bad Audi coils were the push in version, which is why Audi is already on their 5th version of that coil.
Picture of my car with the ATW coils while making up to 630awhp.
Dyno to back it up.
