Default Invert new DV?

I cant remember where I heard it, but someone stated that when replacing the DV with an aftermarket one you need to turn it to where the recirulation/bypass hose comes into the DV from the side of the unit and discharges into the intercooler hose from the bottom of the unit, this boost flow would go through the DV the opposite way as the stock one, of course the vacuum hose always goes into the little hole at the top in either DV.

Is all this true? If so, how does it work? If not, why would someone think it would?

Im pretty sure you hook it up the exact same way as the stock one. It does the same exact think the stockers just wear out, so why would you hook it up differently? I personally would hook it up the exact same way unless the instruction manual instructed me otherwise.

The only dv you hook up in reverse are the ones that are partially blowoff valves such as a forge splitter. Otherwise its replaced exactly like the stock one.
