B5 with CEL (Coolant Temperature Sensor)
Hey guys, I have a '96 A4 (B5) 2.8L which is having some...lets say...issues.
First, a while back I got a CEL and the code came out to P0116 (coolant temperature sensor). I replaced the sensor with the blue/black one (not the green one) and went and got the code cleared. About a week later it came back on and I went to get it checked again and it was the same code. I think my dad and I installed it correctly (but then again we have never worked on foreign cars, must less an audi).
Secondly, a couple months ago I got the oil pressure light and we towed the car home. Well, when we went to give it an oil change, we found the oil came out a metallic gold (no where near black) and realized it was sludged. So, we dropped the oil pan, cleaned it out, gave it some fresh oil and the light went away. There hasn't been any problems with that, but I was wondering if anyone knew what might have caused that? (I only bought the car in like October last year so I don't know how the previous owner took care of it).
Any help you guys could give would be greatly appreciated.
Eric
