Cat Removal

Cat Removal
Having issues with removing my dead Cat to replace it with a 034 Motorsports HFC.
The nuts attached to the studs from the turbo to the cat will not budge.
Anyone else have this issue and how can I resolve?

I had that issue as well, just 2 nights ago. The cat-to-downpipe bolts were quite rusted, and difficult to get to, so I removed the cat and downpipe as a single unit. There was a clamp that held the downpipe to the rest of the exhaust. However, I had to remove both the heat shield for the passenger-side driveshaft and the passenger-side transmission mount heatshield. It was a major PITA!
Also, if you're not aware of this already, the nuts on the stock cat are actually welded on (the ones visible from the engine compartment). Only the bolts come off.

The Ones that go from Cat to Turbo are Easy to Come of. Just make sure you use 6 Point Sockets. The One that Goes from Turbo to Manifold. I snapped 2 out of 3. I was impatient. I don't think you can use Regular Ratch. Impact Wrench would get it out if you can get in there.
If you do snapp it, take the Turbo to a professional machine shop to Drill them out and reinstall new Bolts.

Thanks guys.. I was able to move 2 nuts out of 3 but the third on the underside of the turbo would not budge.. I was hoping not to snap it so I dont have to remove the whole turbo.
Any liquids I could spray on it to loosen it say maybe over a few days or something?

Deep Creep or Kroil will do it. Did you try warming it? Run the car for a few minutes ^^^so everything is hot, then let it cool down some. Go after that last one while it's warm - doing this made it a snap to remove the bolts on a recent job we did up here.
