Default Crankshaft and Camshaft Seal

Quick question, I got the timing belt kit from blauparts, and it came with 4 seals total. 2 are the same and plastic and say they are for the crank and cam shafts. There is a 3rd rubber o-ring that says it is for the "intermediate shaft" (which I assume is for the oil pump pulley), so what is the last plastic seal for??? I am also wondering, since this isnt explained in the writeup: Do i just remove the bolts on the cam and crankshaft, take them off, replace the seal, and put them back on, I was told they are keyed so the timing doesnt get messed up and I can just use the timing marks? Is it risky, should I just leave the old seals, I notice these werent included in any of the writeups..

Bump, i have the car taken apart now, any response would be great.. BTW i dont have the special tool rental from blauparts either so I would have to manually hold the cam and crankshaft sprokets by jamming something in there to hold them.

I just did the seals on the 2.8 so I'm not familiar with the 1.8t. Mine had seals for the camshafts (2 each cylinder head) and the crankshaft. I replaced them because they are leaking like crazy. The job wasn't super difficult but it took me a while. To get the cranshaft bolt off, I used the crankshaft locking tool to hold the crank in place. Be careful about "jamming something in there" as the bolt is on really tight. I used a 1/2" drive with a breaker bar to loosen it. Then I carefully drilled in 2 self tapping screws and used them to pull out the seal. Be careful when putting the new seal in. It needs to go in the same depth and squarely. Be sure to coat the seal on the outside with plenty of oil.

As far as the camshaft seals, I had to take off the valve cover and the bearing caps. It was more work then I thought but it needed to be done. I'm not sure if the process is the same for the 1.8t. Hope this helps.

Thanks alot for the detailed response. I ended up going ahead and replacing them, my neighbor had done them before and was a big help, i ended up doing them without the lock tool so it took a little longer, that tool definitely would have made it easier but I got them done.

Camshaft, crankshaft, intermediate shaft all use the same seal, and the intermediate shaft also has an O-ring if you take off the metal piece on there.
