i have the a4 Quattro and i cant figure out why the rear driver wont unlock or open, not to sure on how the air lock thing works, door wont unlock or open from the inside either, any info would help, thanks.

Are you trying to unlock the door manually, with a remote, or with the lock/unlock button inside the car? Can you pull the lock pin up and and then open the door? Chances are you will have to take the door panel off.

 

^kinda hard to do since one of the screws is by the door jamb and can only be accessed when the door is open. only idea i got is to get a slim jim or wire hanger and try and unlock the door, or find a way to pull the lock pin up manually.

 

That's a good point. I guess trying to pull up the lock pin is your best bet

 

Did you try putting the key in the driver's door, locking the doors, then turn to unlock all the door by holding the key in the unlock position, or turning it twice. If you get the back doors open check the child Lock latch inside the door jam (it is a tiny lever). Also press the central locking switch on driver's door, when you are in the car. Have you tried this?

 

Pull the lock pin up manually! That was the only way I could open mine when my central lock pump failed. I had the lock kiddies on, so I tried with pliers and finally got it open. Once opened, disable the child lock.
