Default H7 low-beam LED bulb retrofit?

Is it possible to retrofit a reflector H7 low-beam bulb with an LED H7 bulb?

I see a bunch of H7 bulbs online, but they all look like low lumen output bulbs only suitable for daytime running lights or fog lights.

Wondering if there is a bulb with CREE or Lumileds chips in it that puts out an insane amount of light compared to a halogen H7 (not to mention lasts 5x longer)?

Also, what is the lumen output of a typical H7 low-beam bulb?

I have yet to see or find any LED chip that would work as a low beam light. Everything I've found and tried is not bright enough for low beam yet. I am sure if you go into more expensive diodes $100+ each not counting massive heatsink you will need to run them, you might be able to get somewhere but it is not worth the effort or money. Stick to HID and a good set of projectors. I recommend 55w 5000k in a set of E-Codes. I've been running this setup for close to 2 years and love it.

Thanks -- I was hoping that with the glut of high-power white LEDs flooding the market (CREE has a huge overstock of their XP-G chips, for example) that someone had built an H7 replacement for relatively cheap. Heat sinking in a sealed headlight enclosure is likely the reason.

Edit: Looks like it would take 6 XP-G LED chips to output the 1000 lumens of a halogen H7 bulb. Seems totally doable to me. I bet the halogen is a lot hotter at 55w than LEDs would be at around 15W.

Problem with 1000lm is that standart halogen produces 1500ln under 12v load and 15% under 13.2 so that LED would be downgrade to the setup. You would need 2000ln and up to actually improve the visibility of the headlights.
For example I can see this integrated into the headlight right at the base where bulbs goes in. Little grinding work and it would sit there flush.

That is a sweet mod idea. I'm skeptical that those three XM-L's put out a combined 2000 lumens (flashlight manufacturers and LED resellers tend to fib), but I don't see why this won't be a possibility in the very near future.

The CREE spec for T6 XM-Ls is 280 lumens per chip: http://www.cree.com/products/pdf/xlampxm-l.pdf

XLamp
XM-L is 20% more efficient than
XLamp XP-G at the same current,
and can deliver 1000 lumens with
100 lumens per watt efficacy

This thing has 3000 lm output. Don't see why it couldn't be done on a car.

All the reading I ever did said halogen output is more like 750lm. Still, I'll keep my HIDs until an LED bulb is out that outshines them. LEDs are cool but I'm not gonna run them if I lose output. There's probably a reason that the V8 engined R8 can get the V10 car's LED headlamps but only for an extra $5000...
