Head bolt torque pattern

Head bolt torque pattern
I have to re-install my head on a 1999 A4 1.8t Quatro tomorrow. I found the torque specs (30 ftlbs, + 90 degrees, +90 degrees) but I couldn't find the pattern. Can I just alternate sides or do I have to skip bolts or start in the middle?

Ignore the underscores, and orientation (front/back) doesn't matter. The semicolons are the bolts. Basically just starting from the center and working out in a criss-cross pattern. This is also how you should do intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, etc. Oh, and do this in 2 or 3 stages. Don't fully crank them down one at a time. Get them all pretty tight and then go over again to their final torque spec.
