Help with 97 a4 i just bought
Ok, so i bought a 97 a4 quattro, 2.8L 12V, and its a nightmare. The brakes were put on wrong, caliper was never tightened, brake pads were just hanging there. Walmart shift **** held on with electrical tape. Grill was gorilla glued on. Straight piped, sounded like a canon going off. Fixed all that. Now the headlights... Previous owner ATTEMPTED to install a HID kit. He cut all original wires. Had cardboard propping up the bulbs. They threw sparks and started a small fire, which burned through my power steering fluid cover. I ripped the entire thing out, wires all the way up under gas pedal amd all. I pulled headlight housing units from the junk yard. Went to hook them up. Assembly i pulled came from a 99 A4. They have oval shaped comnectors, car has round shaped connector. Whats the best thing i can do? I currently have no operating lights/ turn signals in the front of my car. Work third shift and need to drive at night. Can send pics. Never dealt with anything like this before. Any legit advice is welcome.

First of all: Did it at least come with a "Bangin' System"? LMAO!

If I'm not mistaken, you bought facelift headlight housings, but your car is pre-facelift. If I'm right (and I'm pretty sure I am), then all you need are the pig tails/bulb connections.
Your old light housings may have used a different bulv also. You can find out here:

Just cross reference the two years. Once you find out which bulb your new housings take, get the appropriate bulbs and pigtails/bulb connections. You don't need all of the wiring you cut out, because you can run new (spec appropriate - 55W) wires yourself.
That should do it.
