Shouldn't I get the water pump thermostat and cam shaft sensor to do at the same time because the front clip will be off or is it not necessary to do at the same time

Yes yes yes and umm yes. Water pump is like 30 bucks, and you have to take the whole front apart and the timing belt off too. Definitely change it while its all apart.

Default 2017 a4

Hey all

I currently drive a 2015 A3 that I love and am thinking about getting a 2017 A4 (I’ve got a long commute so I put 50k on it in two years and I’d love to get back to driving a stick). If I get it I'm
going to hang on to it for a while but my concern is th cost of repairs as it gets over 100K. From what I’ve read on this thread it seems like after 100k these cars need a lot of repairs. I’m not a car guy so I can’t gauge the cost of the repairs that have been mentioned. Can anybody give me an idea how much some of these repairs have been?

Default 2001 A4....NYC. 256k and pulling just as strong!

Hey All, Joe here. I got a 2001 A4 Quattro 1.8 t with a manual trans. 256000 and she doesn't drip a drop. She's been cruising the streets of New York City and parts of LI her entire life. Just did all my major services, again! Also I'm on my fourth timing belt and water pump (I do at 60k), my second clutch and my second cam chain tensioner. I'm a mechanic for the past 18yrs so this is why this car has been well cared for . Now my dumbass is actually about to slam it too, as I just got my coils delivered two days ago lol. Then she's going in for just a simple stage 1 tune as I already have intake, turbo inlet pipe and test pipe and forge DV. I've Been driving it a very long time and need a little more excitement, so I figured what the hell, I already got my money's out of her 10 times over. In the words (kinda) of Ivan Drago
"If she dies, she dies"....
That's all for now, hope everyone is well! I'll check in again in a couple years when I hit 400k. 😉😁🙃
Best always,
Joe

Wow you’ve really gone a long time without a tune! I just hit 100k miles on mine.
