ignition coilpack question
looking around the net and found these. idk why iv never seen this coilpack but it says its the new "Q" revision. Are they much better then stock ? does anyone use these?

You would have epic fail with those. You never heard of them because they're for a different car/ engine. Check the specs. These are the ones you're looking for http://www.purems.com/products/product.php/II=1751
And yes, they're twice as expensive (one of the few downsides of the AEB engine).
Quick note, did you verify the coil pack(s) is/are bad or are you assuming?

Sorry for jumping into your thread, but you ask if the gent verified that the coil was bad...my CEL came on and the code was "#5 misfire"...I replaced plugs and wires and for 450 mile the CEL remained out...it is back on and the code is the same...I'd hate to spend $250-450 for a new inition coil pack if I didn't need one...2000 A6 Avant with 2.8L motor...88K miles. Is there a test can perform? Is there a "better" after-market coil pack than the others? I thought you could buy only one coil unit, but can't find anyone selling individual units...???
