Default Jumpstart -- anything special I need to do?

So my car is running great after fixing everything that was an issue. But, last night I left the lights on and the battery is dead.

I've seen some people who have had issues after jumpstarts. When I jump it, is there anything special I need to do besides maybe turning the key to ON for a minute before firing up the motor?

Make sure you put positive with positive and negative with negative.

To be safe, shouldn't you technically go positive to positive and negative to a ground on the chassis?

Thanks. I've seen that people have gotten CELs after jumpstarting so that's my main concern.

just jump start it. ill apologize ahead of time but ive gotta say it. soemtimes people make such useless threads its ridiculous. Its an effin jump start! just do it like you would on any other car. Its kinda stupid how sometimes people make threads of every little thing. I dont care if your tire pressure is 2 psi low. theres no need to start a thread for it. just put air in the tire! if you really need to know how to jump start a car, you have bigger issues. and if you are truly, truly curious how to do it properly, how to jump a car - Google Search either that or look in the damn manual. thats what its there for. sorry again but ive been having these feelings for a whilee. i think i know what you mean by other people having issues, but if youre gonna have them then youre gonna have them.

Jumpstarting a car is easy. I've just seen threads on here where people have fried their ECUs or triggered CELs and I was just checking if there is anything funky with B5's when jumping them.

Jumped it last night, throttle body doesn't need alignment. Entered radio code, so I'm good to go.
