Default Motor mount

If i were to replace my stock a4 engine mounts with stock a4 mounts would the slop still go away for a while and just show up earlier than it would if i got rs4 mounts or the density. I have the 2.8 and if $25 mounts are gonna eliminate the slop for a while then **** it but if the rs4 or density are going to be a true difference then thats that.

Well new stock mounts will definitely help, especially if the original ones are totally blown out. thing about stuff like this is, its always a trade off. Audi used the (relatively) soft, sloppy motor mounts from the factory because they allow less NVH into the cabin. If you replace them with stiffer mounts, the slop will go away but you'll feel more NVH in the cabin. That said, there's nothing wrong with the OEM A4 mounts.

ok thats what i wanted to know i know i can get a rock solid drive train with the rs4 but all ym mounts are blown it feels like an old wooden roller coaster driving i just want that gone so if the a4 mounts for 24 bucks will do the trick im in.

Yeah they'll definitely help. If you're going to do the motor mounts I would also do a new snub mount. They're cheap as well and will make a huge difference in the amount of slop you feel in the shifter.

yea i will now that im doing a4 moutns i doubt i could of handled rs4 mounts density tranny mounts and a snub all at once. but i will def add the snub. i read the haynes reapir on the motor mounts do they drop out from the bottom? it looks as if you remove 3 bolts then they drop down. im sure i have to support the engine.

you will need to support the engine.... i would not do rs4 mounts though... do 034 street or stern soft mounts

It's only a couple bolts. They do drop from the bottom. How are you planning on supporting the engine? The transmission mounts are strog enough to support the full load but i would still brace it I'm rambling good luck

I figured i would i have an engine hoist to hold the beast up. on the density mounts - i have to replace the tranny mounts as well i was going to use the density there and a new snub hopefully tighten the drivetrain up that way while using the stock a4 for less cabin vibration i like to cruise without my head being rattled off
