In with the new!

Picked up a "mid model" valve cover at the junkyard. I already have a spare early style valve cover, I got this one because it has the mounts for the updated engine cover. I also got the upper coolant pipe with the 3rd mounting point. The valve cover and pipe will most likely be getting powder coated.

What's the project with the fogs? Do you not already have fogs?

To clear up the pitted lenses, you can coat them with clear urethane. Clean them with your solvent of choice. Mix up the polyurethane 50:50 with mineral spirits and apply to the lens with a paper towel. Several coats will fill in the pits and make them look new. Then finish off with some protective vinyl (lamin-x or the like).

Yeah, no fogs from the factory on prefacelift.

Thanks for the tip for the lenses! I'll have to check that out.

You guys have fog lights, they're just integrated into the headlight housings. Not as efficient as having them in the lower grilles, but people do like the cleaner look it provides. My gf's TT uses the same design.

My friend shot some photos yesterday at the Berkeley Marina, across the bay from San Francisco.
