new project-I will FOREVER be a 12v 2.8
just a different kind...
First of all, I want to say that I hope you all are doing well. It's been a while since i've been on here, and so I apologize for that. It's good to see this place is still hoppin and people are still moddin!
So once again im starting another project on my car. I will be doing a vr6 swap out of a mk3, then adding a t67 turbo with larger injectors and c2 software...to say the least. I will be custom making an intake manifold as well as other various parts for the swap. I already have the motor and a few other small parts. I decided to go with the 12v over the 24v for a number of reasons. The first being my roots...i currently have a 12v, so i thought it'd be cool to continue the trend. Two, I picked up the 12v vr6 for $150 for the motor, which IMO is a great deal. Three, the parts for the 12v are more readily available, as well as cheaper, and it's been proven that great power can be had from this motor.
This will be a slow build as I will be making sure everything is cleaned up to look brand new, the bay will receive a full shave and wire tuck as well. My goal is around 500hp or so, which with the tuning and setup is more than feasible. I will post updates as I go, just wanted to share my plans and keep you all in the loop for what is about to take place!
I've already begun collecting a few parts, but nothing has really started. I have the lower intake manifold half, and will probably begin fabricating the plenum for the manifold in the next few weeks, so i'll be sure to post pictures as I go!
