Pinstriping Removal Help
Does anyone have the fake pinstriping on their car from the factory and removed it themselves????? I noticed that mine is a sticker all the way down the side of the car and not paint so would this come off like debadging the rear end? -Heat, elbow grease, and a good wash- Any advice would help[sm=rolleyes.gif]

RE: Pinstriping Removal Help
I'd claybar the car to remove any wax/polish that is on the striping and make it a bit easier. Then probably use a hairdryer to heat it a bit and make it somewhat gummy, and you may be able to peel it right off. Something like GooGone or GoofOff might help though, in that it could help dissolve the glue gum that holds the stripes on.

if you have a highspeed buffer, it works wonders. my friend was taking the pinstripe off his car and we start with our nails at first but then it started to hurt lol. then our light bulbs came on and he brought out the buffer. it took like 2 min to do one whole side. if you don't have access to a buffer, jeremy's idea would be grand. i don't think any a4s had factory pinstripe put on though

Ya I will be purchasing the 3M Stripe removal wheel today... The stripes would only come off in 1 or 2 centimeter sections and after 30+ minutes and only one fender completed I decided that there had to be a better way.

The old A4's had a pinstripe but I think it was paint. Mine has one but I don't know if it was a sticker/paint/whatever but I've been thinking of removing it because it's faded in sections (makes me think sticker)
let me know how this turns out.
