Default Questions about my parts shopping list (Oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs etc.)

Hey guys,

So I am planning on doing some maintenance on my car (2000 A4 1.8T Quattro) and I wanted to know what you guys thought of these parts:

Oil Filter:
K&N Large Oil Filter, Part number: HP-3001

I need the Large model and not the small one right? Also would you get the K&N one or the OEM audi one?

Fuel Filter:
MAHLE Fuel Filter

Again, MAHLE or OEM Audi?

Spark Plugs:
I was a little confused here because ECS stocks like 3 different types of NGK spark plugs, which ones should I get?

NGK Laser Platinum

NGK Copper Core

Other NGK Plugs I think these are for AEB engine codes, whereas mine is ATW...

Which ones should I get? Are the Laser platinum worth it or is the copper core fine? I plan on chipping the car this summer.

Air Filter:
K & N Air Filter

This should be the right one, got it from K&N site.

License Plate bolts:
Bolts

8,12,16 or 20mm for my license plate??

Thanks for the help!

I just did some research and apparently the copper core NGK plugs are just fine. Anybody here use them? Opinions on the rest of it?

Oil filter: I'd use something more like a MANN.
Fuel filter: Mahle or Mann
Air filter: Mann again
Sparkplugs: I'd use the OEM ones with the triple ground electrodes (that for an AEB 1.8t engine though)
License plate bolts: i'd say 8mm without license plate frame and 12mm with a license plate frame.

So I still think I should go with:

K&N Large Oil filter
MAHLE Fuel Filter
K&N Air Filter
NGK Copper Core Spark Plugs

My only real debate is MAHLE/K&N or OEM Audi? I heard the OEM ones were good...

K&N oil gets on the MAF... Amsoil's air filter is better if you want a long life one - otherwise paper filters are just fine if you're OK with changing them. Even Fram is fine, though NEVER use their oil filters.

Not sure why people here love on the Mann oil filter so much. Do you all just like buying brands that nobody else has heard of? Bosch, Wix, Purolator PureONE, Amsoil, K&N, Mobil 1 (not the same, though made by the same company and similar) are good filters. Mann is an unknown.

Bosch for fuel filter.

NGK for spark plugs.

Sometimes the oiled cotton-gauze filters like K&N are over-oiled and the oil can soak the mass air sensor. They don't have to be Fail though - when you get it, wash it with soap and water, dry it, and reoil it lightly so you run less risk of cooking the MAF.

Oil's what traps the dirt... no-to-little oil and you might as well run a quality paper filter... K&N = FAIL
