Default rear speakers not working :(

hey guys, i have been working on getting an audi sound system back in my b5 (the concert 1 receiver) rather than a crappy off brand model that i had, but now i can't seem to get sound out of my rear speakers. i know that they were both rewired, and they worked just fine out of the other receiver, but now i can't seem to get any sound out of them. any ideas of what my problem might be?

Not to state the obvious but did you check power to them? Try hooking a known good set of speakers to the rear speaker connectors? Like taking one out from one of the doors and connecting it to one of them from inside the trunk.

The stock set up had a small amp attached to the rear (left I think) speaker. The stock stereo puts out very small power to the speakers, the amp is what makes the speakers put out the sound. If you are putting the stock stereo back in with aftermarket speakers, you need to install a small amp, run your rear speaker wires from the head unit to the amp, then amp to speakers.

Hope this helps...
