Default Spark plugs damage on pistons

Hi guys, i'm new here and i need your help.
I bought NGK Platinum Lazer spark plugs because like it says it does better ignition, smoother engine work, faster acceleration, better fuel economy and lower emissions, but my mechanic says that it might damage the pistons because of its constant work and more sparks.
Is he right? Half Right? Or totally wrong?

i could not see any spark plugs doing that now over time they bend dueo heat and pressure but thats over timing not like a 5000 mile thing

WTF? is he claiming that the spark plug will make too many "sparks" and that will damage your pistons?
It doesnt matter what plugs you have, the "spark" comes from the coil when the ecm signals it to fire. The only way you could possibly damage a piston, is by running too "hot" of a range of spark plugs with shitty gas and advanced timing.

^^ Agree... Heat range would do it.... other than that, he's totally wrong.

hi and thanks,
yes Mr.Phil i have 12/96 1.8T fwd.
Broncoman75 i was just thinking what you say when he told that about the plugs, i thought that the spark would only be more accurate and efficient and all what it says on the box but i'm still learning.
By the way, i'm gonna do a seafoam cleaning, put APR hoses and new diverter valve, a Newsouth power gasket on the intake manifold, a Neuspeed 1.8T 180 Degree Thermostat and Neuspeed 180 Degree 3 Pole Fan Switch and i'm still open for suggestions and opinions on the cooling subject. What do you think?
Thanks a lot
