Default Timing belt interval and price

At what mileage should the timing belt be done and around what price can I expect to have it done? Also does the waterpump need to be done?

1- Every 60-80K (jury still out on the exact interval)
2- Way too much to have it done, DIY for under 300 bucks (blauparts.com)
3- Yes (included in a kit, for under 300)

Tensioner... just as, or more important than the belt itself (usually the first thing to fail).

Where are you located? I'm using AF mobile and locations don't show. If you're not comfortable DIYing it, a local AF member may be able to do it for you. If you're anywhere near upstate NY, Devildub and I are always down for Audi work.

Not a bad drive at all to Bnghamton if you want it handled. I can talk to you via phone and discuss if you're interested.
