I am getting a whining noise from my car when I start the car and go to turn the wheel. But that's the only time it whines. I am not sure what it is but fear the worst. I checked the p/s level and it was good. My next gvuess is that the power steering pump is starting to go.... Like I said it is only on start up when I turn the wheel

 

Do a search for power steering here. I remember reading a DIY flush method that fixed that problem for a couple of people here. I think it was a turkey baster or something. Use the proper fluid and not generic stuff.
