Default Why is my car slow?

97 AEB engine.

I have k04, racetech intercooler, giac tuning (k04-15), kinetics exhaust manifold, high-flow cat, borla exhaust. I did a CAPS time (last year, actually, heh... ) and it was 8 seconds or some such. At any rate, much slower than the k04 average. I was disappointed.

I have access to aVAG-Com, and would like to make some logs to try to find out what's going on. What are some good measuring blocks to log? What is significant data to pay attention to?

Also, my engine has been running about 10 degrees cold. (it's at 80 celsius). I just replaced one coil pack, spark plugs (which were bad) and I often get "Main Catalyst Bank Below Efficiency" CEL. I believe that means too much fuel is going through my cat? Or some such? Is there a possibility of a bad o2 sensor? Will backing out the o2 sensor in the cat do any good?

The ko4 isnt that much of a power increase so i dont know what all you were expecting. As for logs, run psi, iat, and timing with the rpms.

Main cat below efficiency usually points to a bad cat, but what it the OBDII P0 code?

As for the measuring blocks, I could never remember those, even after working on them for weeks straight. I always hated that. You need to observe your O2s, usually an efficiency code is a result of the downstream O2 out of range, usually due to poor cat efficiency. Backing out the O2 sensor is a band-aid, if it even works. If it switches with the upstream O2, the cat is bad. If it is pinned high or low, you may have a poor mix or a bad O2.

Supposing that my problem is a bad mix, this would mean there is too much fuel and not enough air, correct? (rich?) would this make my engine run cold? What might cause the problem? Boost leak?

ORIGINAL: cincyTT

looks like a bad primary o2
There's not really enough info to determine that for sure, but it's definitely a possibility.

As for incorrect mix, you can determine that by the O2 sensor readings. Vicious cycle, right? Does it pass a secondary air short test?
