so i found a pretty good deal on a roof rack only problem is the owner says its for a 2007 A3 and says it should fit my b5.
is this true will it fit right on the b5 or will it need work?

 

if it is the oem rack then i dont think that it would fit. but if its off the thule or yakima one from their website (one of the universal ones) you could just buy a fit kit and it will work. in case it is oem, ask him for the part number and look up the part number for the oem b5 one, if they don't match then it wont fit.

 

alright thanks i found one from a B6 passat which lots of people say works awesome just some 20min adjustments so i maybe picking one up in the following week($75)
and oem so should be good pick of the outcome.(some one elses after thet did the adjustments)

ya nice find right now i have a universal thule rack with a fit kit for my audi, but i will be selling it after snowboarding season is over. i really like the look of OEM racks. i also kinda wanna get a box instead of ski holders hehe

OEM racks FTW. Those B6 passat racks go well with your car. I want a cargo box too...

 

get the b6 passat roof rack they are currently like 90 something on ECS and all you do is measure (i think its about 8 inches) and cut the aluminum then remount the bracket and you got a perfect looking roof rack

 

matched color boxes look sweet ive seen quite a few posts with people showing them off.
