Default Windows not working or the sunroof

I have a 98 A4 that the windows and the sunroof stopped working on but the I still can roll the windows up and down using the key in the door. I believe that the window module has gone bad but I can't find it to save mylife. I was told that it was behind the drivers side kick panel or under the dash do it is not. Does anyone have any clue where it is on my car or do you think it is something else wrong with the window system?

Dude just try the fuse's that's probably what happen....I was messing around with my fuse's the other day and I think I pulled the one that control's all that and put it in the wrong location and the window's didn't work and if you don't know where your fuse box is i think it should be when you open your driver door on the body of the dash and then just pop it out and there it is I would check their first and the panel that you pull out their should be a small list of all the function's and the location of the fuses....good luck.

^^ yep, what he said,i put in a Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD head unit with 4 Pioneer speaks to replace the stock bose speakers, the Radio fuse kept on blowing, because the bose speakers were only 15amps,where the Pioneer speakers were way more,so i end up getting a separate 4 channel amp for just the 4 speakers and a 2 channel amp for the sub woofer.

The Radio fuse is 37 if i remember,i upped it to a 30 amp fuse also, never blown after i changed my setup ^_^ check on the left side of the dash, when you open your door, the fuse box is there,on the inside of the cover, there is a legend with all the fuses and what they power. good luck...

Possibly the vacuum pump in the right rear corner of the trunk under the carpet. It's known to fail and when it does you can lose windows, locks, sunroof, etc.

Did the windows and the sunroof fail at the same time? Could be two separate issues?

Default Window not working all the time

I am having the same issue with my windows and sunroof on my 99 audi A4 quad. The windows will work sometimes, but most of the time they are not. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this issue. Could it be the pod? I can roll the windows down with the key in the lock every time, but then they will not go back up until they feel like working again. Then again sometimes this will allow you to open them and close them from the inside. Just seems really odd that they work then stop once you shut the car off.
