2002 Audi A4 quattro 1.8t has no heat.
I did change/flush out the coolant system.
But I did not flush the heater core.
The hose going in the bottom input is hot (firewall)
And the hose above is ambient Temp.
So my Question:
Should I just replace the heater core? And if so is there a place you can buy one cheap?
It looks like it is difficult to replace but not a total nightmare.
Or take my chances and flush out the heater core?
Which seems like a hassle also!
Sorry if I'm a little vague.
Any feedback is welcome
Thank you
John

You need to bleed the heater core. One of those hoses right near your heater core should have a white circle on it. Within that white circle there is a small pin hole to bleed the air from the heater core. Pull the retaining clip off and slowly slide the tube off of the metal housing under it to get the pin hole just passed the end of the metal housing. If done correctly you should hear air come out and then see a steady stream of fluid.
The heater core job isn't very fun.

Thank you. At one point I did pull both those hoses off but not sure if it "bled"
I know which house you mentioned. Don't quite understand if that will give me heat.
perhaps the air in the core?
Yes I see that replacing the heater core is not much fun!
But having no heat is not either.
have a great day!

I replaced my heater core and now my car has great heat!
There was a link I found somewhere on replacing it.
I also bought the core cheap on line.
Sorry that's not much info as I am away for the New Year
Took about two hours.
