2002 Audi A4 quattro 1.8t smells of exhaust or something while driving with the heat
2002 Audi A4 quattro 1.8t smells of exhaust or something in the cabin while driving with the heat on. When I have the windows up it's bad. Sometimes I feel a bit ill.
Has anyone else experienced something similar to this?
I don't know if I am being asphyxiated (sp?) or not.
I sometimes feel a little ill.
Long drives I need to keep the windows down.
It maybe nothing??
I did recently replaced the heater core maybe that is a clue?
Everything was sealed fine...I believe.
Thanks
John

Cabin air filter is located on the passenger side of the battery compartment. Check the hood gasket between the engine compartment and the battery compartment.
If you had a exhaust leak in the engine bay it would be pretty obvious as it would be loud..
You could have a leak coming from the flex pipe after the cats (braided exhaust you can see under the car..
More likely your smelling burned oil from a leaky gasket dripping oil on the exhaust (ie valve cover gasket)..
