#37 fuse should cover the washer pump.

Winshield pump is around $20. You can get it from any car parts store. I just replaced 1999 A6 it was $17. and you have to take bottom cover off. then look for it. It is easy to change.
Before you replace please check fuses.

Same issue here with an 02 1.8T.

Replaced fuse #37 with a 20amp and the washer fluid-pumps worked.

Turned on the headlights to see if the headlight washers would also work and the fuse blew again.

Any thoughts? try a 15amp fuse? is there a different fuse for the headlight washers? did I miss a recall?

Hey Everyone,
I had the same issue with my 2003 A4 1.8TQ 2 weeks ago. To validate info, the correct fuse position is #37 and is located in the fuse panel to the left of the steering wheel. My car had a 25 Amp fuse in it. I replaced it with a 25 Amp fuse and everything works fine now. Some will advise you to go to a 30 Amp fuse to avoid blowing it in the future, but I believe Audi used a 25 Amp fuse for a reason so Istuck with it. Besides, if it blows again, the 5 pack of fuses that I bought was $3.50 from Autozoneso it is not that big of a deal. Good Luck!

While my windshield wipers and fluid still work, the headlight washers do not. I have checked the fuse and it is not blown. My manual indicates that whenever I have the car running with my lights on and spray my windows, the headlight washers should pop up and spray the lights also. These do not. Any ideas?

Position number 37 is the intelligence module and in my case (2002 A4 1.8T) it is 20 amps and not 25 amps. After I replaced it, the fuse blew after a few days again and then again. After further digging on this forum I found a note that suggested replacing the 20A fuse with a 30A fuse (apparently recommended by Audi) and I am always afraid to do that due to obvious reasons. Just want to confirm if everyone agrees or if someone has done this without causing any problems.

In the event it's the motor causing a short, does someone have pictures to share or instructions on how to replace it and the p/n?

Thanks.

The driver's side fuse box (left of steerign wheel, covered when door is closed), fuse #37. Replace it with a 30 amp fuse as detailed in an audi service bulletin a few years back. Do ti even if it appears to not be blown upon inspection.
