One of the easiest things to do on an audi, its right in front of the right rear wheel under the car. Just disconnect it and install the new one.
Just make sure to install it in the correct direction, there is an arrow on the filter.

Any bright ideas?

Might try replacing your cam sensor. I forgot to plug mine back in after doing some work and it caused the same problems you're describing.

Best of luck

well i also have that problem and changed the coil packs and plugs it seemed to help also but i think using Top Teir Gas also helps too when i have my tank full of that stuff it seems to start up fine but when it gets close to the 1/4 mark i have hard time starting with my car so i add in a bottle of seafoam and it does the trick i will also change my fuel filter when i get my part in it will take a bit for it to arrive but ill post when i get a chance of how it goes, imma also try the seafoam vaccum line clean out thingy where you run some seafoam through a vaccum line through the intake manifold and hope that helps clean the system

I've been having the same thing happen to me when it's warm it wont restart until it puts itself into limp mode. Then I can turn it off restart and goes and runs fine. Any ideas?

check your engine speed sensor. they have alot of names for it like cranks signal sensor or even impulse sender. I was not able to pull a code off my car with a cheap autozone code but i was able to read a stored code with a high end tool i borrowed from school. the code had come up as p0321 which was the engine speed sensor circuit was bad grounding, which meant that it was bad lol. the part i bought was 70 dollars at the dealer the part number is 078906433a . they will ask for your vin but its just a sensor that can be replaced very easily. here is the thread to someother guys post same story as mine and he changed the impulse sender and it works fine. https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...impulse+sender

if you have time read through the 7 pages of postsand you will get a very good understanding of the ingition system or at least how the singal system works in the audi. if you dont want to read the actual install is on page 6 or 7 check it out very easy to do 25 min max to remove. one bolt only
