Default Fix for broken trim

ORIGINAL STOCK PHOTO:

THE TRIM I AM REFERRING TO:

Today this trim officially popped off when a friend slammed the door too hard by accident. It won't snap back in either, I've had it happen where part of it pops off and I can usually clip it back in, but it no longer clips.

I have had several people tell me I just need to get 'clips...'

but do i need to go to an audi dealership specifically, or can i get this at any auto parts store?

thanks for your help.

I know you just need the clips but finding them is the tricky part, you don't need to go to the dealer for it, as long as you find a clip that is similar or the same as the ones you need you should be alright. I think that piece needs four metal "V" shaped clips.

i was gunna say i dont know if just any auto store will carry those clips. I know they carry the ones for the outside panels that have those ribs in em to grap but those v clips might be more fun to find. goodluck sir.

i finally got the dealership to ship me the needed clips. it seems to have been the right clips as i snapped them right in. however, the trim just won't go back into place...so now i'm thinking that the clips they send me aren't the right ones.

should the trim snap in easily if the clips are the right ones? this is really frustrating over a damn trim piece!

VAGcat is down right now, I'm gonna try to get you a part number so you can get it from audi.

I showed them the damn trim piece and the parts guy at the audi dealership couldn't even order me the right part? he's supposed to be the expert!
