Timing Belt Broke - 2003 A4 1.8T Quattro
Hi gang. It's been awhile since I've posted, but my timing belt broke on me. I had just had it replaced by Redmond European 40K miles ago, and Barrier Audi pulled it apart and found that it was the problem. I'm pretty upset to say the least, especially since I proactively replaced it and the damn thing lasted half it's expected life.
Moving on - I don't have the money to pay the shops to fix it, so my buddy who's pretty good with cars said we can tear it apart and attempt it ourselves. According to Barrier, I'll need new timing belt and valves, and worst case scenario I'll need a new cylinder head. I didn't have them pull it apart to check, but I spoke with the mechanic at Barrier and he told me it's not often the cylinder head gets damaged, but he was confident I could look at it to see if there was any damage after we disassembled it.
With that said, does anyone have any suggestions on places to get the parts and manual necessary to fix it? Any advice, hints, tips, tricks, etc would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Trevor

europa auto parts, germanautoparts, autoparts warehouse, german autoparts customer service goes above and beyond any buisness i have delt with, as for the manual, the bently manual while about 80 bucks, is well worth it, you might even get lucky if you list your area and find a fellow audi gearhead that would be willing to give a hand or let you borrow the manual, good luck
