2006 Audi A4 handbrake loose
hey,
so yesterday we had a snow storm here and i was backing up and the car kept stalling and I finally realised I had my handbrake (stalled twice) on so this morning when i went to pull the handbrake i had to pull it higher than usual to hear the clicking noise... usually i just have to pull it just a tiny bit before it clicks...
do i need to adjust the handbrake?

The Jetta I use to have had problems with the brake cable stretching, and had to be adjusted a few times. Over the last year and a half my A4s has had to go up one more click than when new. Partly due to the fact my brother drove the car and yanked the cable unnessessarily hard stretching it further. Just don't let it start sticking. My Jetta's parking brake started sticking just enough to not release but not be noticed. It trashed the rear brakes. I needed new pads and rotors, as well as new cables to replace the stretched ones.
