Default 2008 Valve Cover Gasket Leaking?

I have a very slow oil leak and can't definitively determine where it’s coming from, but I’m fairly positive it’s the vale cover gasket. How involved is replacing this gasket? Something that can be done in your garage?

Any help/info would be great!!!!!

I have the same problem with my A4 Quattro......I took it to my mechanic and nothing was showing as a leak but more into buring oil bcuz of my location in Florida its very hot and humid, try using a thicker oil so it wont burn as fast....I just changed my oil with 10W/30 so ill see if it leaks again

Could be failing PCV. A sign of this is usually oil residue on top of block.

Have dealer check your VIN for recalls as the PCV is a recall item on some B7 A4's.

I haven't changed my VCG, but my understanding is it's pretty simple. I had oil coming out from there due to a bad gasket and bad PCV, but I was still under warranty so the shop did it all.

I just replaced mine on my 07 b7 for the exact some problem as I've been diagnosingand fixing a ton of oil, fuel and electrical problems for years. Only problem I have left is a squeek.
The mechanical part is very simple just make sure you get the gasket lined up well and dont over tighten the cover.

Edit: oh, the main reason I changed it was b/c I had oil leaking into the spark plugs.
