Default Audi A4 Glove compartment

Hi guys,

I own an audi A4 Audi A4 2005.5 3.2 Quattro. My Glove compartment is broken and I am looking to replace this part real cheap. Can anyone suggest an option other than looking into ebay.com?

I don't know of any places, but when i bought my 2007 a4 back in march, the glove box was broken and I made the dealership fix it on them if I bought it. It totaled $500 around there. Try to avoid dealership!

I checked ECS Tuning (starting to think I work for them as often as I have mentioned them lately) and they carry glove box parts. If it is the door it is between $200 to $300+. Not what I would call cheap.

We are at 178.56 for a new lid, plus 10.00 UPS ground shipping. Here is a link I found on how to repair one. And the glove box lid brake is 21.80 dollars and if that is broken it will cause the new lid to brake sooner.

Thanks Jeff. I have to admit this is the lowest online quote I have seen. By the way, do you think i still use my current Glove box locking system on the new door, in order to make my key work when i replace the door?

You transfer the cylinder from the old door to the new one, so yes you can keep the same key for the new door. Our new ones don't include the pull handle, those and the lock cylinder are sold seperately should they be needed.

The glovebox brake tends to stick on the A4. Mine did, and it was a devil to open and close. Audi actually has a TSB about it because it has become a known problem. I fortunately found the TSB before the warranty ran out, so it didn't cost anything to fix. At least I was lucky and didn't break the door like some people have.
