Default Beeping while driving

Hi everyone,

So a couple of weeks ago, I was driving on the motorway and all of a sudden a beeping noise started coming from the back end of the car, it sounds like the parking sensor beep.

When I press the brake pedal the beep stops only to start back again after a few minutes.

Any advice on what I can check to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance
Stephen

For sure sth is wrong here but you should go to a specialist to have a look on!

One thing I forgot to mention is that I did have some water in the rear left hand side light cluster but I have removed the water and rechecked all seals to make sure it stays dry inside.

Was in the car today and it was also beeping when standing still, I opened the boot (trunk) and the beeping noise was coming from the left hand side.

Little more info, I was driving this morning with the lights off, and no beeping from the car, turned them on and beeping started straight away. I have just taken the light cluster out to check on it and looks like one of the pins are corroded, both on the cluster and on the connector.

Could this be causing the issue?

Check your door contact sensor (it's located within the door lock unit). It alerts the driver when the lights are on and the door is not closed (so you don't forget to turn off your lights when you get out of the car ). Unfortunately when it fails it can fail in the "door-open" position and therefore thinks the door is open all the time and whenever your lights are on it will beep. Maybe when you first had this happen it was on its way out and therefore only did it intermittent.

Hi, came across this old thread and I have a very similar sounding problem, did you ever figure it out!? I'm not sure if it's the door contact sensor, it's much quieter than that. Intermittent quiet beeping when the lights are on, stops briefly when the brake pedal is pushed. Very annoying!

Cheers
