Getting a new key made...
So I bought a new key fob off of ebay with the correstponding FCC number. And I have a new key (uncut).
I was wondering what I should expect to pay at the dealership to have them program it and cut the key?

depends on the year in late 2001 audi started using the emobilizer, so you can get the key cut at your local lock smith but it wont start your car, you will have to return to your local dealer if you car is made after 2000.

I think you can actually program it yourself..not sure on that though. I know when I replaced the battery in my fob the car didn't recognize the fob until I went through a few steps..its outlined in your manual. As far as cutting the key itself, my dealer doesn't have the ability to cut them since it's a CNC cut... My situation was a little different...I was hoping to get a 3rd key made...I went to the dealer and was curious how much it would be...I remember it being an outrageous amount so I asked what if I bought the key elsewhere and they cut it. They said they can't cut keys there....could be just a ploy for them to force having to go through them??? Wouldn't surprise me.
