ignition noise during cold start
#2
Really need a more information to provide help. I am guessing here, but if you are saying the car runs rough for about 5 seconds then I would ask if when you start the car do you insert the key and turn the ignition quicky to get it cranking? The reason I ask is when you turn the key it starts the fuel pump and if you quickly turn the key the fuel system may not be fully pressurized when you start the car. Try turing the car on and then wait a few seconds before trying to start it. See if that helps.

Have you confirmed the noise is coming from under the hood of the car? When you turn the key you should here noise for a few seconds as the fuel pump primes the system. that noise would come from just to the drivers left side. If it was the tensioner I wouldn't think it would go away after a few seconds. Best bet is to take it to a good mechanic that works on Audis.
