Oil pressure warning
Hello guys,
We have a 2008 B7 2.0T a few days ago, the low oil pressure warning light came on while on the freeway. It lasted like 5 seconds and never came back. I was able to complete our commute and returned home. The low oil pressure warning kind of freaked me out and I ordered a mechanical oil pressure gauge and a new oil pressure sending unit. In the time being I garaged the car.
If I find the oil pressure to be out of spec, I will take out the engine out & replace the oil pump. I will post pics here.
Wish me luck!

In addition to what you are planing to replace I would add an oil screen/pickup tube. Those things are the most likely cause of oil starvation/pressure issues. They get clogged up and restrict oil flow causing the red light of death (well some call it that, because in 8 out of 10 cases it means something really bad).
I'm sure you already had it planned but check your oil filter too
Should you find metal or plastic pieces in your oil or pickup tube - you better start digging deeper because this will not stop by what you are replacing.
Good Luck!
